Not a ritual performed once. A daily practice that turns the waiting into a welcome.
What Garbhsanskar actually means
Garbha is the womb. Sanskar is refinement — the shaping of character
through conscious, repeated practice. Garbhsanskar, then, is the deliberate refinement of the environment
in which a child is forming.
And that environment is the mother. Her food, her breath, her sleep, her thoughts, the sounds she hears,
the people around her, and the state she lives in. Everything the baby receives passes through her —
which means working on her state is not something separate from the baby’s development. It is the only
thing we can directly do.
May we be protected together. May we be nourished together. May we work together with great vigour.
The Practice
Six daily practices, taught gently
Guided by Pushpa Nishar, and adapted to your month, your health and how much time you honestly have.
०१
Mindfulness & Meditation
Time set aside to slow down and be present — quiet practice that helps you meet each stage of pregnancy with greater awareness and calm.
०२
Music & Sound Wellness
Sound, rhythm and music used gently through pregnancy, creating moments of stillness for the mother and early familiarity for the baby.
०३
Parent-Baby Bonding
Meaningful moments shared between both parents and the growing baby, so the connection begins well before the birth.
०४
Creative & Sensory Activity
Creative and sensory experiences that make this chapter something to enjoy rather than simply get through.
Month by Month
How the sadhana unfolds
The practice changes as your body does. Nothing is asked of you that your trimester cannot give.
1Weeks 1 – 13
Settling & Sankalpa
Most mothers are tired and nauseous, so we ask for very little. A daily sankalpa spoken aloud. Five minutes of breath. Gentle mantra. Food that stays down, chosen for the first-trimester needs. The work here is establishing the habit, not the intensity.
Daily sankalpa & prarthana
Basic anulom-vilom
First-trimester Garbh Aahar
2Weeks 14 – 27
Building & Bonding
Energy returns, and this is the richest stretch. Longer dhyan. Shloka and naad practice as the baby’s hearing develops. Cognitive activities — reading aloud, music, art, memory work. This is also when prenatal fitness properly begins, and when fathers join the sessions.

3Weeks 28 – Birth
Opening & Trust
Everything now points at the birth. Visualisation of a calm, confident birth. Breath patterns rehearsed for each stage of labour. Deep relaxation, because a fearful mind holds a tense pelvic floor. Abhyanga for sleep and circulation. And the honest conversations about what you are afraid of.

An honest word about what Garbhsanskar will not do
Garbhsanskar will not replace your antenatal check-ups, your scans, your screening or your medication. It will not guarantee a particular kind of child, and it cannot promise any particular kind of birth — some births genuinely need a caesarean, and that is not a failure of anyone’s practice.
Anybody who promises you a genius baby or a guaranteed normal delivery is selling something. We are not.
What it does do is give you nine months lived with attention instead of anxiety — and in our experience, mothers who reach labour calm, strong and unafraid have a considerably better time of it, whatever route the birth finally takes.
Begin the Sadhana
Start Garbhsanskar at any month.
Whether you are planning to conceive, newly pregnant or already in your third trimester, there is a version of this practice that fits where you are today.
