Straight answers, plainly given

The things mothers actually ask us, answered the way we would answer them in the room.

About Garbhaveda

What exactly is Garbhaveda?

A women-centred practice in Thane where four specialists work together — a consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist, a senior obstetrician, a childbirth physiotherapist, and a Garbhsanskar guide and nutritionist. Modern obstetric medicine and traditional Garbhsanskar under one roof, offered together rather than as alternatives.

Do I have to take the whole package?

No. Many mothers come only for obstetric care, or only for fitness, or only for Garbhsanskar. Take what is useful to you and leave the rest.

Is Garbhsanskar offered instead of medical treatment?

Never. It sits alongside your scans, screening and medication. If anyone offers you sanskar as a replacement for obstetric care, walk away from them.

What are your timings?

We consult Mon – Sat | 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM. For anything urgent, please telephone rather than using the enquiry form.

Appointments

How do I book?

Telephone +91 83569 33056, send a WhatsApp message, or fill in the enquiry form on this website. We call back the same working day.

What should I bring to the first visit?

Any previous reports, scans and discharge summaries, a list of the medicines you take, and your questions written down — it is easy to forget them once you are in the room.

How long is a first consultation?

Longer than you are probably used to. We would rather run late than rush you.

Can my husband or my mother come in with me?

Yes, and we would prefer it for the first visit and for the birth-planning visit.

Pregnancy & Birth

Do you really support vaginal birth, or is that just something on the website?

We prepare for it actively from the first trimester with fitness, breath, nutrition and mental readiness. We also tell you plainly when a caesarean is genuinely needed. Both of those are part of the same commitment.

What exactly is painless birth?

Painless birth usually means a vaginal birth with an epidural for pain relief. You remain awake, and you still push.

I have been told I am high-risk. Can you look after me?

Yes. High-risk pregnancy is one of our main areas, with twenty-five years of labour-room experience behind it.

When should I first come in?

As soon as you have a positive test, and ideally before eight weeks. Several useful things can only be done early.

After the Birth

How long should I rest?

Properly, for around six weeks. The traditional forty days exist for sound physiological reasons, and mothers who skip them often pay for it months later.

When can I start exercising again?

Around six weeks after a vaginal birth, eight to ten after a caesarean, and only after an assessment. The wrong exercise started too early can make a diastasis worse.

Is feeling low after the birth normal?

A few days of tearfulness is very common. Low mood that persists beyond two weeks is not something to endure quietly — please tell us, and we will help.

Do you help with breastfeeding problems?

Yes, and please come early. Most feeding difficulties are mechanical and fixable, and they are far easier to solve in the first week.

Still Wondering?

Ask us the question you have not seen answered.

No question is too small or too awkward. If you would rather ask a woman doctor directly, say so and we will arrange it.
